In 1978, 5,700 Mexican copper miners in Nacozari (not far from the U.S. border) went on strike twice for union recognition. The military took over the mine, the miners struck again and their leaders were exiled. To help build solidarity with the Nacozari miners among Chicanos and others in the U.S., Rini prepared a booklet. One page, shown here, typifies her efforts during this struggle and many others to affirm that for poor and working people, there are no borders.
