In May, 1984, Rini visited Clifton,-Morenci, Arizona, where the copper miners were on strike, The Women's Auxiliary of the strike organized a Cinco de Mayo fiesta, which was attacked by state police firing tear gas at the crowd and National Guard helicopters flying overhead. Rini stayed for a week, and made many drawings.
