In January, 1977, Rini traveled to Panama, where she illuminated another Latina American reality, this time a world of semi-tropicl poverty and exploitation, Afro-Panamanian cultural influences, U.S. militarism and the Canal,and popular support for nationalist President Omar Torrijos.
