Repression and resistance - two constant themes in Mexican people's history and Rini's art. After years of struggle against the hundreds of disappeared activists, the National Front Against Repression finally won the freeing of 1,000 prisoners. "2 oct. no se olvida" (Oct. 2 is not forgotten) refers to the massacre that day in 1968 in Tlatelolco plaza, Mexico City, when hundreds of student and community demonstrators were shot to death. The cry of "Donde están?" was a demand to know what had happened to the disappeared, of whom 80 were finally produced.
